About Iyanna Vivica O'Garro

Iyanna also known as Vivica was born in Saint Joseph, Dominica. Her first encounter into art was as a six-year-old during her early childhood living in Antigua. Upon relocation to the London, Iyanna embraced every opportunity to create throughout her time in school. This came in forms of setting up an Art club for her secondary school, to donating a series of paintings to auction off to raise money for the Poppy appeal charity during her time at sixth-form.

Following the years of sixth-form Iyanna chose to pursue a career in engineering which led her to study Mechanical engineering at the University of Portsmouth. While studying in Portsmouth, Iyanna was inspired by the many creatives in the city from dancers to artists, both in University and the locality.

As the world begun to spiral into chaos because of the breakout of Covid-19, this inspired Iyanna to pick up the brush again and channel her experiences and thoughts unto the canvas.

Iyanna paints in acrylic and oil and occasionally dabbles in watercolour. Her work can be found online at @VivicaArt on Instagram.
